Brief Program Descriptions

Clinics: See clinic page

Clinics are designed to introduce young players to the fundamentals of basketball: dribbling, shooting (B.E.E.F.), and passing.  No experience is necessary.  We have Kindergarten, First and Second Grade Clinics.

2nd Grade In-house: End of October-February

This program is designed for players who have been through multiple years of clinic and have the skills to be ready to play basketball.  The players will play games and look to advance their skills.  Players must have at least one year of clinic or In-House Director’s approval

3rd grade In-house End of October-February

All 3rd graders play in our in-house league.  We play neighboring communities and work on expanding the knowledge of basketball.  Teams are created via a draft and the attempt is made to make them equal.  The basketball is governed by rules to make skill development the priority for all players.

4th-6th Grade In-house End of October-February

This is a developmental program for players who are not interested in traveling or who need to improve to make the next level.  Games are played against neighboring communities and continued work on basketball skills and knowledge.

7th and 8th Grade In-House End of October-February

This level plays in the Maplewood league with games on Saturdays.  Games are played in both Cottage Grove and neighboring communities.  We call it tier two traveling because games are more competitive and on Saturdays.  For players who do not want the vigorous schedule and competitiveness

4th-8th Grade Traveling Beginning of October-Middle of March

We have try-outs in September and teams begin practice in October.  Most teams play through the third week of March and a State tournament.  This is a more intense program with 8-12 tournaments through out the season.  Tournaments are on weekends and are in communities around the area.  There are additional fees for tournaments in addition to the registration fees.
